Cocktail Time in LA

I adore food, clearly.  It's king in my world.  But ruling right alongside it is the empress of all things ... the perfect cocktail.  I've had many in my LA travels (I seem to drink more wine in New York), and must share with you what I consider to be some of the best cocktails in Los Angeles.  

My personal favorite?  You just can't beat an extra dirty martini.  Ever.  (Though I admit, anything with Scotch gets a nod, and the Smoky and the Bandit from Ray's & Stark Bar wows me every time.)  As for the photos, I've divided them into two categories: Vibrant and Moody.  Enjoy.  Literally.  ;)

VIBRANT
MIXOLOGY 101 @ Farmer's Market: Tennessee Squirrel — Jack Daniel’s, Disaronno amaretto, passion fruit syrup, fresh passion fruit & lemon juice, served over ice in an old-fashioned glass.
CHAYA DOWNTOWN: Spicy Ginger Margarita — ginger- and jalapeno-infused tequila, lime, candied ginger.
MIXOLOGY 101 @ Farmer's Market: Spicy 50 martini — Stolichnaya Vanil, elderflower cordial, fresh lime juice, honey syrup & chili pepper.   
OSTERIA MOZZA: The Dutchman — gin, grapefruit juice, ginger simple syrup, bitters.
RAY'S & STARK BAR at LACMA: Smokey and the Bandit Cocktail: Laphroaig 10 year Cask Strength, honey, orange and lemon peel.
THE BAZAAR in the SLS Hotel: LN2 Caipirinha 20 — Brazilian cachaça, fresh lime and sugar frozen by using liquid nitrogen.
FORD'S FILLING STATION: Sierra Madre — Partido Blanco Tequila, fresh lime juice, organic agave nectar.
MOODY
THE EDISON: Great Scott — 12-year aged Johnny Walker Double Black Whiskey, Jameson Irish Whiskey, mixed with honey and lemon.
BONEYARD BISTRO in Sherman Oaks: Maple Bacon Old Fashioned.
THE EDISON: The Mistress — vodka, hibiscus liqueur, lemon juice and a Prosecco floater.
MORTON'S THE STEAKHOUSE in Burbank: Extra Extra Dirty Grey Goose Martini with three olives — a classic.
PUBLIC KITCHEN & BAR: Spiced Cucumber Collins — Hendrick's gin, lime, shishito pepper, cucumber, mint. 
THE EDISON: Sandia del Fuego — Casa Noble Reposado tequila, watermelon, cucumber, jalapeno and lemon juice
THE FALLS LOUNGE: The Rustic —  Hendrick's gin, grapefruit juice, freshlemon juice, agave nectar, tonic, on the rocks.
